Barry Sternlicht is chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group, the private investment firm he formed in 1991 that focuses on global real estate, hotel management, oil and gas, energy infrastructure, and securities trading. For the past 23 years, he has structured investments with an asset value of approximately $47 billion.

The Real Estate Finance Initiative seeks to construct a globally recognized program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business that transforms students into industry leaders through a highly applied agenda of curricular and extra-curricular learning experiences, as well as capitalizing on Washington, D.C.’s position as a global real estate market.
