Embracing Change: Leading Organizations in Turbulent Times
Georgetown University campus, Washington, D.C.
Overview
Rapid change, turbulence and uncertainty are constants for most organizations today. These shifts often require strategic redirection, budget cutbacks, and HR decisions that can disrupt an organization’s workforce. The challenge for managers today is to continually adapt to a highly dynamic and competitive environment and keep employees engaged, productive, motivated amid the chaos. This program will equip managers to help their teams and organizations accept uncertainty as a given, embrace change as a constant, stay on course, and keep moving forward to achieve their organization’s mission.
Participants
The Embracing Change executive certificate is designed for people who lead people and teams, especially in organizations working through constant and/or difficult change, transition, and upheaval.
Strategic Purpose
With the leadership, culture and attitude, workforces can be remarkably adaptive to change - especially when they know the path forward. Embracing Change will help participants with designing new organizational strategies and identifying keys to successful implementation. It will also address how to lead workforces to embrace the need for change, how to use performance management tools and workforce planning to encourage and reinforce change efforts, and how to build and maintain a high-performance culture in demanding times.
Approach and Coursework
Program coursework includes lectures, classroom discussion, and workshops around practical strategies to help managers and executives keep workforces and their organizations focused on their goals. We encourage – and appreciate – real-world examples of challenges faced by participants in their organizations, and incorporate the examples into program learning.
